Zermatt

We have been so fortunate with incredible weather this summer in the Alps.
Each weekend we have spent in a different part of the Alps and each weekend we have been most grateful!
This past weekend we spent four days and three lovely nights in Zermatt.
Though touristy, this town is gorgeous.
We hiked, we took Swiss scenic trains, we played at incredible playgrounds, splashed in Alpine lakes and we saw the Matterhorn in all of its glory.
Tessa with the Matterhorn behind her...looks like a big triangle!
Family shot with the Matterhorn in the background.
 Awesome place to play!
A family shot at the top of Gornergrat...almost 10,000 feet.

Just hangin' out on the top of the world with the kiddos
 The famous St. Bernard...Biscuit

 Awesome weather for hiking!

A little rock throwing at a crystal clear Alpine lake

The Gornergrat Bahn.  This one is for you Jacques.
 The fogged in Matterhorn...still visible.

So lucky for such incredible views and awesome weather!
Stellisee...beautiful lake!  That is Noah and Melinda on the bench!
Hard to tell, but that is Melinda hiking on the trail!

Engstlenalp

It was one of those rare occasions as a mother that I was able to travel alone.
It was a beautiful weekend filled with all the riches of this country I have come to love.
Blue skies gave way to lush green hills, which met crystal clear lakes.
Trails were, as always well marked and provided incredible views.
Goats, cows, horses, and all of nature’s wonders presented themselves to us and we were in Swiss heaven.
Thanks to Anne for the wonderful suggestion and your friendship...it was the perfect weekend!

Friendly goats along the trail.
Our little lunch spot...

I was grateful for witnessing humankind at its finest while on the trail.
