Easter Break!

What a busy couple of weeks we have had.
Noah had two weeks off of school and in that time we:
embraced soccer camp
played and played some more at the incredible parks in the area
visited Robi in Binningen and amazed at the fun and freedom we had
took boat trips on the Rhine
fed ducks on the beach
visited awesome museums
explored botanical gardens
soaked up lots of fresh air
and felt exhausted from it all.
Monday it is back to school, but boy, that was fun!
 On the Rhine Boat
Just another morning on the river

 Feeding the ducks.

Love it!  The Tinguely's current exhibit is very child - friendly and a blast for everyone!
We thought of Oma when we saw this piano.  What a great way to get kids enthusiastic about music....let them decorate the piano with 1 million stickers.

Wow!!!  Not in our house!  But pretty cool idea!

Some Days...

Some days are simply magical.  Everything falls into place, the weather is perfect and I am reminded once again why it is that I am happiest when I am spending time in nature with my children.  We abandon the tasks of the indoors and seek refuge in the natural world.  Exploring, discovering, making new friends and simply being at peace.  So today, was indeed a good day.  A day that I felt most blessed to have these two little people in my life, blessed that we live in such a child -friendly country and blessed that nature is all around us, despite our urban address.  Thank you, thank you for everything that fell into place today and for this life that I am living.

Oh, this incredible play haven - Daronga in Binningen.
Where children can be children and life is, for a short time, perfect!

 I LOVE these playgrounds.
Smiled from ear to ear when Noah said to his new friend Eric at the playground,
"Bye Eric, until we meet again."
Too sweet!
"Teaching children about the natural world should be treated as one of the most important events in their lives. "
Thomas Berry
Beautiful house at the farm.  Might just be a country girl at heart.
A day of animals, dirt, sand, water, play, and new friends from New Zealand.
Ah....bliss!

This Spring

This spring is absolutely beautiful!
We are enjoying short treks to the snowy Alps.
Having fun working on projects.
Listening to Lord Huron - incredible!
Wishing everyone a happy, yet belated Easter.
Looking forward to our friends visiting from Berlin.
Hoping Robert hangs in there with everything that is transpiring at the moment.
Still reading and enjoying Overwhelmed.
Enjoying Dark Rye's productions.
Did I mention we are loving the spring?
Realizing that I am happiest when I am surrounded by nature with my children at my side.
Happy to have read how very important it is to have fun...even as an adult.
Wishing everyone a fabulous week and grateful for our long weekend.

We Are...

I adore this photo of Noah at soccer camp!  He had such an incredible time and this photo captures his joy perfectly!

 We Are...
Soaking up this gorgeous, mouth watering Spring!
Enjoying the local botanical gardens.
Discovering more turtles in the back garden. Hmm...
Thrilled to see Noah flourishing in soccer camp!
Listening to the Weepies.
Looking forward to a couple of weeks of holiday from school and normal schedules.
Smiling when Noah calls Tessa "Missy," which I guess is her new nick name.

The botanical gardens in full bloom!

Love, love, love that the gardens are so close to our house!

Noah enjoying the lambs.

What's not to love?

We Are...

We Are...
Ever so grateful Robert is back home safely after what seemed to be a very, very long 8 days away.
Loving everything about Spring.
Enjoying our turtle friend in the back garden.
Adoring the movie About Time and some of the simple, yet profound messages communicated in the movie. Oh, and did I mention I loved the actors and the witty comments throughout the film?
Falling in love with the idea of child friendly hotels and looking forward to visiting our first one in Saas Fee in the near future.
Loving the book Overwhelmed by Brigid Schulte and grateful for bringing light to such an important subject.
Listening to the Counting Crows and remembering great times at Drexel.
Learning to let go of expectations more and more as each day passes.
Discovering incredible new playgrounds in Basel and grateful that we call this sweet city home.
Looking forward to spending the weekend with my entire family.
