Gettin' it Done!

We have had a busy week, but a wonderful week.
Tuesday we took a long hike in Muttenz up to the three castles, stopped for a picnic lunch in the warmth of the sun and meandered through the vineyards.  A beautiful break from the ordinary and a nice way to spend a day away from school!
Thursday Noah took his best friend to his first ever 3D movie and had a blast!
Saturday we hiked again and then spent the afternoon grilling on an open fire in the woods.  Bliss!
We picked flowers, visited farms and made our way home.
Sunday my family cheered me on as I ran my 4th half marathon and then they enjoyed a kite festival in the local botanical gardens.
It has been full, rich and an incredibly perfect fall.
And we wished Opa a happy 80th birthday with a wonderful family Skype session on Saturday night!
Have a fabulous year Jacques!

 Vineyard hikes...
I love this time of year!
Noah thinking all of life is one big trail for the X games...oh my heart.
 3D Movie maddness!

Hikes and more hikes.  What better time to make the most of the gorgeous weather?

Steep hills, but our girl got it done!
 Building the fire...
 Proud stick collector!
 Grilling
 Enjoying the fire!
 Fresh cut flowers

Half Marathon....whew glad that is over!

We Are...

 We Are...
Enjoying play dates with Noah's friend and grateful he is growing up bilingual!
Embracing the fact that our two children have no fear and believe each bike ride, swing, or playground adventure is a trial for the X - Games.  Oh, this mama is aging rapidly...sigh!
Enjoying the luscious sounds of Angus and Julia Stone.
Looking forward to our two week break from school and schedules in a few weeks.
Happy to have such a dedicated trail running partner.
Wishing my best friend of 30 years the best 37th birthday ever!  I love and miss you Jen!
Grateful that this life is our life!
Wishing everyone a beautiful week and a wonderful weekend!

We Are...

 We Are...
Getting into the swing of school, spielgruppe, music classes, German lessons and park time.
All a bit tired with our new routines.
Happy to have read The English Patient - what a beautifully written book!
Grateful that the life we created is the life we want to be living.
Happy that Robert is still able to bike to work with warm temperatures.
Thrilled that my nephew Chris was able to visit Paris solo!  Good for you Chris - what an adventure!
Still reflecting on our time in Iceland and ever so grateful for the amazing experience.
Working on some fun little projects.
And finally as someone once said, when you aren't sure where to start or what to do, "Just do something!"  Haha
Smiles for a great week...as Tessa loves to draw in the black sand beaches in Vik!

The Things She Says...

Our little gal is certainly embracing three.
She started her German playgroup and is rolling with each and every move we make this new school year.
She also says some of the cutest things this mom has ever heard.
I want to write some of them down as not to forget this magic time in her incredible life.

Me:  "Tessa, do you think your life rocks?"
Tessa:  "I like crystals."

Tessa:"I want Belinda ice cream."
For those of you who have no idea what that means, well Belinda to Tessa is vanilla.

Tessa:  "I am not kidding."

Tessa:  When referring to a public toilet, "I guess that place stinks like cows."
